Bonus points for double negligence.

Congress and 6th

This woman was sitting right on the crosswalk in a very high pedestrian/bike area. Maybe she would have realized if she hadn't been yakking to her girlfriend.

Gotta love this one.

Riverside and Congress

This guy didn't even look as he was pulling out of the Wells Fargo drive-thru center. Well not until after I yelled at him and he struck this pretty pose. Thanks, dude!

Welcome to Texas; please don't kill me.

South 1st and Barton Springs

Not even out-of-towners are spared the humiliation! These people saw me biking through the intersection (as we had the green light) and cut me off to make a right turn, which forced me to slam on the brake and almost go flying forward off my bike. Next time you cut someone off, please at least do it with some skill.

Pay attention to your surroundings!

6th and Rio Grande

This is always a nice one. You're not supposed to ride on the sidewalk on 6th, but if you're lucky, instead you'll just get clotheslined by someone's car door. Hang up the phone!

The bike lane is for bikes!

Riverside and Congress

If you know the owner of this license plate, please let her know that it's not a good idea to pull out of a parking spot into the bike lane without looking. After almost hitting me, she also had the nerve to honk at me like it was my fault!

Get off the phone and drive please.

6th and Lavaca

This lady was talking on her cell phone and didn't see me as she pulled out of the Post Office's driveway. Shocking. She came really close to t-boning me (on my bike) and, as you can see in the image above, didn't really seem to care after that. Thanks, lady. I hope that conversation is worth my life.

You're in the crosswalk.

Congress and Mary St.

Blatant disregard for the crosswalk is not uncommon in my experience biking to and from work everyday. When there is no bike lane, I sometimes like to ride on the sidewalk of Congress because it feels a lot safer than riding near the cars whizzing down that street. But it's a lot harder for me to get off the curb and around a motorist than it is for a pedestrian (which is still annoying for them). And more often than not, these people are pulling over the crosswalk when pedestrians have the signal to walk or see me coming and intentionally block it because I guess I should go around them? I mean, they're the ones who had the decency to buy a car, right?
